THE POTTERS SHED: HUGE SAVINGS ON GIFT CARDS

THIS DEAL IS GOOD FOR HUGE SAVINGS ON A $50 GIFT CARD FOR THE POTTERSHED IN SHELL LAKE!

Wisconsin artist Michael Macone was planning to be a painter until his high school pottery instructor exposed him to all the wonders of clay. He enrolled in Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, but couldn't shake his ceramic experiences, so he decided to revisit pottery. He created one of a kind clay art and exhibited throughout the country dragging his young family with him, winning many awards along the way. He and his wife now have a gallery/cafe in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, where patrons can try their own hand at pottery and other creative endeavors. He also produces a wholesale line of handmade decorative tiles and home decor called "Spooner Creek" that's sold in gift shops and art galleries around the country.

Macone Clay is the work of Michael, his two sons Miles and Clayton, and his son in law, Dan Temple. "We approach clay much like paper or canvas. To us, the pottery is just a function. The shapes and glaze effects are always secondary to the images and textures that we draw, engrave, then stamp into the clay." Recently, wood has been added to their work allowing them to make unique clay/wood collages. They are grateful to make a living doing what they love.
